Plate of Fluorite on Barite w. Sphalerite, Minerva Mine 1, Hardin County, Illinois
A magnificent large Old Stock 2 sided Plate of naturally Etched Yellow Fluorite with minor Purple Fluorite specks on contrasting White Barite on matrix in this listing. There is also a single Sphalerite Crystal on this one. A lot of the Fluorite has been naturally etched by dripping water but still many Fluorite Cubes attached. The bottom looks to have been sitting on sand or another soft mineral when it formed with a casting formation. A really awesome old timer specimen here that came out of the Minerva Mine #1, Cave-in-Rock, Hardin County, Illinois.. It weighs 4 pounds 8 ounces and measures about 22 by 18 1/2 by 7 cm. A very solid specimen and super unique.
